Dear Church Family,
We are officially in the holiday season and things will get busy very
quickly. We will have our Children’s Program and our Adult Christmas
Cantata. We will take up our annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. There
will be parties throughout the month and plenty of goodies to take part in.
Each Sunday, leading up to Christmas, we will light one advent candle and
have different ones read scripture and say a prayer. On Christmas night at
6 pm we will worship together with the Lord’s Supper and have a candle-
light service. Many of you will be traveling to see family and trying to work
out all those details. I’m sure there is more that I have failed to mention,
but you get the point that it will be busy. No matter how busy it may get,
do not forget why we celebrate during this time of year. Jesus Christ came
to this earth as a newborn baby and changed the world forever. He knew
we needed help, and He was the only way. The scripture says in Isaiah
9:6-7, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the govern-
ment will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase
of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David
and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgement and
justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts
will perform this.” We should never forget to give thanks for all that Jesus
has done for us and continues to do for us. He is where we have eternal
peace and don’t get too busy to forget that.
God Bless,
Pastor Jason
